Somerset Tourism Website  -  www.visitsouthwest.co.uk

Relax from a busy lifestyle into the gentle pace of country life in the Quantocks and Exmoor, explore the spectacular hill scenery by foot on horseback or cycle along the many designated paths.

There are plenty of quaint hidden villages to explore, unchanged for centuries.

Visit one of the small local country pubs and enjoy the taste of Somerset with a variety of local food and drink.

With its wealth of reservoirs, lakes and coastline there is always time for some relaxing inland or sea fishing whilst enjoying some spectacular scenery.

For the ultimate shopping experience a visit to Clarks village is a must. With its variety of discount designer shops there is always a bargain to be had. Clarks village can be reached by car in well under an hour.

The Somerset county town of Taunton is only 10 miles across the Quantock hills from Currypool Mill and has many popular high street shops as well as a swimming pool and variety of places to eat. Taunton is a good place to visit on a more 'unsettled weather' day. There is also a large odeon cinema and bowling alley located in the outskirts of the town..

The city of Bristol is an hours drive north and with the new Cabot Circus shopping centre and also Cribbs Causeway, offers something for everyone. If you prefer a more historic experience then Bristol has many attractions to suit including the award winning SS Great Britain which has been been restored to its former glory and is well worth a visit.

The small town of Bridgwater just 6 miles away has a selection of shops and a small but excellent value for money cinema (£3.00 on Mondays). There is also a selection of supermarkets.
